425 i - 1987 to 1989
From 1987, the 425 received the benefit of an injection system, which improved the engine's smoothness and cold-running. Together with the catalytic exhaust system, it helped bring emissions levels down.
Leather seats became standard. The Maserati Sensitork differential replaced the Salisbury-type of earlier versions, transfering up to 90% of the power to the wheel with the better adherence in slippery conditions.
Externally, the only touch distinguishing it from the 425 was the black facia adopted on the alloy wheels. 2372 cars were produced, combining the 425 and 425 i.
