Biturbo Si

Biturbo Si - 1986 to 1988

When Maserati introduced Weber-Marelli fuel injection on the Biturbo in 1986, the more powerful Biturbo S version received the same treatment, and was presented at the traditional end of year press conference, on Dec. 14th. Dubbed the Biturbo Si, the 2-litre version for the Italian market was good for 220 bhp at 6,350 rpm, while the catalysed export version produced 188 bhp despite its larger 2,5-litre displacement.

The twin intercoolers were now mounted ahead of the engine. Exterior colours were either red, gunmetal or black over a grey lower body, and there was a discreet spoiler on the tail. The interior sported a revised seat configuration and leather trim; power steering was optional.
