Spyder III cat. (2800) - 1991 to 1994
In 1991, the Spyder underwent an important restyling.
Whereas the 2-litre version, destined mainly to the Italian market, received much needed mechanical upgrades as well, the 2.8-litre export version remained much the same under the bonnet, for the engine had been introduced less than two years earlier.
Design-wise, the car was reworked with new, slimmer headlights, taller bumpers and sills, 16" six-spoke alloys, more aerodynamic wing mirrors and a peculiar spoiler at the base of the windscreen, invented by the designer Marcello Gandini.
