Spyder III cat. 1991 - 1994
With the restyling of 1991, a series of upgrades were brought to the Spyder from a technical point of view as well. The most significant modification regarded the introduction of 4 valve-per-cylinder heads with 4 overheads camshafts, which served to increase the performance despite the fitting of a catalyser. Wherever allowed by the legislation, customers could also specify the car without the catalyser.
From a styling point of view, the car was reworked with new, slimmer headlights, taller bumpers and sills, 16" six-spoke alloys, more aerodynamic rearview mirrors and a peculiar spoiler at the base of the windscreen invented by marcello Gandini.
