200S/200SI
The 200S was fitted with the 150S's 4-cylinder engine bored out by 11 mm and stroked by 3 mm for racing in the 2.0-litre class. In this guise it produced far better torque at low to medium revs. The wheelbase started off at 2.15 metres before being stretched to 2.25 metres.
The first three cars were equipped with the rigid rear axle from the A6GCS; this was then replaced by de Dion rear suspension. The twin rear longitudinal leaf springs were swapped for a single transverse one to overcome suspect handling on the early version. The SI (for sport internazionale) version featured doors on both driver and passenger side, a full-width windscreen, wipers and a canvas top to comply with 1957 sports car regulations.
28 cars were built and most were sold to US customers for the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) championship. In Europe the Swiss driver, Willy Daetwyler, won the 1957 hill-climb championship.
